Bobbie Gentry, née Roberta Lee Streeter dans le comté de Chickasaw le 27 juillet 1942, est une chanteuse et autrice/compositrice américaine. At age 14, Gentry took her stage name from the 1952 movie Ruby Gentry (1952). She briefly worked as a dancer and singer in a Las Vegas revue show called Folies Bergere before moving back to California.
Bobbie Gentry (born Roberta Lee Streeter; July 27, 1942) is a retired American singer-songwriter. She was one of the first female artists in America to compose and produce her own material. Gentry rose to international fame in 1967 with her Southern Gothic narrative "Ode to Billie Joe".
