This Man is a conceptual art project and hoax created by Italian sociologist and marketer Andrea Natella. In 2008, Natella created a website called "Ever Dream This Man?" describing a supposed mysterious individual who has reportedly appeared in the dreams of numerous people around the world since 2006.

This Man, according to a website created in 2008 by Italian marketer Andrea Natella named Ever Dream This Man?, was a person who was claimed to have been repeatedly seen in dreams by the whole world since 2006, but was never found in real life.
This Man was actually created by marketing strategist, Andrea Natella, founder of Italy's first unconventional communications firm, Guerilla Marketing. Its entire modus operandi is to design subversive hoaxes to drum up public interest for commercial products.
The copypasta story is said to have originated from thisman.org [1], a website launched in September 2009 by Italian viral marketing specialist Andrea Natella. According to the site description, the portrait (shown below) was drawn by a mental patient of a well-known psychiatrist:
