The BFG is impressed by how many bedrooms the Queen's palace has and begins swiveling his ears about to try to hear her. Sophie hangs on for dear life since she is afraid of falling out. The BFG finds the Queen's bedroom and blows the dream to her, leaving Sophie on the windowsill as they agreed.
Eventually, the sun comes out and she hears the clock strike seven. Then she hears the Queen murmuring in her sleep as she has the nightmare. (Apparently dreams take a while to cook in people’s heads.) When the maid walks in with a tray of breakfast, the Queen tells her about her dream.
Sophie directs him to the Queen’s back garden, and the BFG blows the dream and sets Sophie on the windowsill of the Queen’s bedroom. The Queen wakes up in a panic, and then her maid panics when the Queen tells her that she dreamed about boarding school children being eaten.
While her maid yells at Sophie for being on the Queen’s bedroom windowsill, the Queen seems to have a more open mind. She doesn’t even raise an eyebrow when the giant Sophie claims to have called doesn’t show up right away.
She listen as the Queen is a little sleep talker and finally she hears a woman greet the Queen, but the Queen talk with a sudden panic of horror from the dream that she had. But she had seen in the newspaper headlines that many girls and boys have been snatched from their boarding school beds, Sophie slips down onto the sill and introduces ...
She navigates the giant to Buckingham Palace, where he places her in the Queen's bedroom. He then gives the Queen a nightmare that closely parallels actual events; because the BFG setting Sophie in her bedroom was part of the dream, the Queen believes her and speaks with the giant over breakfast.
They pass a room with a sleeping man and a few empty ones before reaching a room with a lady. They part the windows, and Sophie recognizes the Queen’s profile. The BFG sets Sophie on the window ledge and, using his trumpet, blows the dream to the Queen.
