27 juil. 2017 · The traditional NASA blue circular logo. NASA. The round red, white and blue insignia, nicknamed the “meatball,” was designed by employee James Modarelli in 1959, NASA’s second year. The design incorporates references to different aspects of the mission of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) insignia has three main official designs, although the one with stylized red curved text (the "worm") was retired from official use from May 22, 1992, until April 3, 2020, when it was reinstated as a secondary logo.
Les trois symboles comprennent l'insigne de la Nasa (meatball), le logotype de la Nasa (the Worm) et le sceau de la NASA. Ce dernier a été approuvé par le président Dwight D. Eisenhower en 1959, et légèrement modifié par John Fitzgerald Kennedy en 1961.

8 févr. 2024 · The NASA Logotype (Worm), designed by Richard Danne and Bruce Blackburn in 1975, was NASA’s official logo between 1976-1992. The Logotype can be used as a supplemental graphic to the NASA Insignia (Meatball) in when appropriate.
Le logo est composé de trois éléments qui représentent encore aujourd’hui l’esprit des missions de la NASA. Dans ce logo, on retrouve la sphère céleste représentée par le fond bleu ainsi que les étoiles. Une sonde en orbite est représentée gravitant autour des lettres NASA.
