Bill Bruford, né le 17 mai 1949 à Sevenoaks ( Kent ), est un batteur britannique. Il est principalement connu comme membre des groupes de rock progressif Yes, King Crimson et UK. Il a aussi été musicien de tournée pour Genesis et Gong.
After leaving Yes in 1972, Bruford spent the rest of the 1970s recording and touring with King Crimson (1972–1974), Roy Harper (1975), and U.K. (1978), as well as touring with Genesis (1976). In 1978, he formed his own group, Bruford, which was active until 1980.

1972. Yes / King Crimson. “Fragile” and “Close to the Edge” both consolidate and export the success to America, but both titles indicates the rocky state of the band’s internal relationships amidst more or less continual bickering as to how to proceed. “Fragile” reaches number 5 in the Billboard Chart on April 1st.
Wetton's big break came when his fellow Dorset native Robert Fripp invited him to join King Crimson in late 1972. The incarnation of the band also included violinist David Cross, former Yes drummer Bill Bruford, and percussionist Jamie Muir.
BRUFORD recorded with EARTHWORKS throughout the late 80s & early 90s, until the CRIMSON KING once again reared it's head in 1994. This new 'double-trio' incarnation of the band was a radical change even for KING CRIMSON, and the music it produced was no less radical for it.
The guest musician list is therefore highly impressive, including Robert Fripp, Allan Holdsworth, Martin Barre, Phil Manzanera, Bill Bruford, etc. Three of the tracks are from UK's albums "UK" and "Danger money", plus a further two live tracks by UK.
