Despite never successfully jumping the Grand Canyon, Knievel became a legendary figure, breaking numerous records and bones throughout his career. On September 8, 1974, Knievel attempted to jump across the Snake River Canyon in Idaho using a rocket-powered cycle called the Skycycle X-2.
2 nov. 2022 · The Snake River Canyon was actually Knievel’s second choice. He really wanted to jump across the Grand Canyon, ranging anywhere from 10 to 18 miles across and a mile deep. Seeing as how it’s been a National Park since 1919, he wasn’t able to get permission for the stunt.
