Ziggy Stardust is the fifth studio album by David Bowie, released in 1972, featuring his alter ego Ziggy Stardust, a bisexual rock star sent to Earth before an apocalypse. The album explores themes of artificiality, sexuality, stardom and rock music, and was influenced by Iggy Pop, the Velvet Underground and Marc Bolan.
