17 mai 2024 · Music theory wise, most of her first 3 albums are rock songs. For example in her first album, Soda Pop and The Beat Goes On are the only songs not in the rock genre. A lot of the big ballads are still in the rock genre as they too follow the rock n' roll formula.
Okay just listened to the song and will admit I have heard it but not by them. Still not the line I am thinking of when it comes to dancing/standing with I love Rock and Roll. I distinctly can hear it in Joan's voice both ways. As I said I know it as dancing and always have known it as dancing.

6 mars 2023 · I think some history is helpful. According to Wikipedia "Joan Jett saw the Arrows perform "I Love Rock 'n' Roll" on their weekly UK television series Arrows while she was touring England with the Runaways in 1976." So she was either 17 or 18 when she first heard the song.

I think OP means Rock & Roll, not just generic rock songs that could be considered pop or mainstream. "I Love R&R" is the first song came to my mind.
