The mansion is an E shaped mansion with 16th, 17th 18th and 19th century features and was entirely remodelled in 1837. Sydmonton Court retains clear evidence of different periods in the evolution of the estate and is an example of 18th century estate ‘rationalisation’.
BREEDING SUCCESS. Watership Down Stud was founded by Andrew and Madeleine Lloyd Webber in 1992. With the aid of racing manager, Simon Marsh, they renovated the old stable yards so that they were suitable for foaling mares and set about fencing thousands of acres of grassland.

The estate is currently owned by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Baron Lloyd-Webber, and hosts the annual Sydmonton Festival. The house is a grade II* listed Tudor manor house originally built to an E-shaped floor plan in the 16th century, but modified several times since then.

11 déc. 2011 · Andrew Lloyd Webber, now Baron Lloyd-Webber of Sydmonton, apparently paid £150,000 in 1978 for the mansion and the 4,000-acre estate. The house is the home of the composer's Picasso and pre-Raphaelite art collection.
