Cornel West, né le 2 juin 1953 à Tulsa ( Oklahoma ), est un philosophe américain et l'un des contributeurs majeurs des African-American studies . Après avoir enseigné à l' université Harvard, il est professeur de religion et d'histoire des Afro-Américains à l' université de Princeton.
Cornel Ronald West (born June 2, 1953) is an American philosopher, theologian, political activist, politician, social critic, actor, and public intellectual. The grandson of a Baptist minister, West's primary philosophy focuses on the roles of race, gender, and class struggle in American society.
Cornel West is an independent presidential candidate who supports radical changes on climate, crime, education, economy, foreign policy, health care, immigration and reproductive rights. He is a philosopher, activist and author who has taught at Harvard, Yale and other institutions.
Dr. West is the former Professor of the Practice of Public Philosophy at Harvard University and Professor Emeritus at Princeton University. Cornel West graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard in three years and obtained his M.A. and Ph.D. in Philosophy at Princeton.
