James W. Curran is professor of epidemiology and dean of the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. He is an adjunct Professor of Medicine and Nursing, and Co-Director and Principal Investigator of the Emory Center for AIDS Research.

Biography. In 1995 James W. Curran was appointed professor of epidemiology and dean of the Rollins School of Public Health. Graduating from the University of Notre Dame, he received his MD from the University of Michigan and a master of public health from Harvard University.

James Watson Curran, newspaper editor and author, was born in Armagh, Ireland, on April 24, 1865. When he was eight years old, his family emigrated to Canada, eventually settling in Orillia, Ontario.
