Karen Diane Magnussen, OC (born April 4, 1952) is a Canadian former competitive figure skater. She is the 1972 Olympic silver medallist and 1973 World champion. She was Canada's Female Athlete of the Year in 1971 and 1972, and was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1973.

26 janv. 2014 · Former Olympic skater Karen Magnussen, shown in 2010 with her students, became permanently disabled in 2011 after she was exposed to ammonia at the North Shore Winter Club ice rink.
Junior champion in 1965 and senior national champion five times between 1968 and 1973, Magnussen captured the hearts of the skating world with a brilliant performance at the 1972 Olympic Winter Games in Sapporo, Japan where she won a silver medal, Canada’s only medal of the ’72 Games.

11 févr. 2010 · Karen Magnussen patine pour Ice Capades jusqu’en 1977 puis s’établit avec succès comme entraîneuse de patinage. Elle épouse Tony Cella en 1978 et vit plusieurs années à Boston avant de revenir à Vancouver pour entraîner les patineurs artistiques et les joueurs de hockey.
