Al-Battar ( Arabic: البَتَّار, meaning "cutter") sword was taken by Muhammad as booty from the Banu Qaynaqa. It is called the “sword of the prophets” and is inscribed in Arabic with the names of David, Solomon, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, Zechariah, John, Jesus, and Muhammad.

The Prophet, peace be upon him, had nine swords. He inherited Ma'thur from his father, and it was the first sword he ever owned. He also possessed al-'Idhb and dhul-fiqhar or dhul-faqhar, which did not leave his sight. Dhul-Fiqar had a hilt, circular guard, tuft, buckles and a base made of silver.

10 mars 2017 · Ali reported: When the weapon of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, had been assembled, I found on the handle or blade of his sword three sayings, “ Maintain relations with those who cut you off, speak the truth even if it is against yourself, and be good to one who is evil to you .”.
