Rick & the Ravens was an American surf rock and frat rock band founded in 1961, known as the forerunner of the Doors. Members Ray Manczarek, John Densmore, and Jim Morrison renamed the group in the latter half of 1965 after joining forces with Robby Krieger.

Rick & the Ravens, founded in 1961, was the band Ray Manzarek was in before he joined The Doors. The band recorded three singles on Aura Records before splitting up and reforming as The Doors in early October 1965.
Formé en 1961 à Los Angeles, Rick & the Ravens était le groupe de Rick Manczarek, le frère de Ray, le célèbre clavieriste des Doors. Ray Manzarek y joue également du piano et chante au sein de cette formation, il se fait d'ailleurs appeler à la manière des chanteurs de Blues de l'époque "Screamin' Ray Daniels."
