13 mai 2014 · Here on her first studio album in seven years and 10th overall, Chicago-based singer Jackie Allen returns with a winner. The excellent and subtle “Blame It on My Youth” (backed by acoustic guitar and piano) stands out, as does lightly swinging “Sleepin’ Bee.”.
With her latest, My Favorite Color, Ms. Allen does not disappoint. Her core band is a ridiculously talented ensemble that is capable of some downright breathtaking music. John Moulder is on the short list of Chicago’s most incredible and versatile guitarists.

After moving to Lincoln, Nebraska in 2011, Allen has continued to tour and record for the small Avant Bass label. My Favorite Color (2014), a collection of new and old standards, was her first studio release since Tangled.
