This is not just a jazz singer doing meaningless, pseudo-hip-showoff drivel on the music of a wildly idiosyncratic master composer of American pop music.
25 sept. 2013 · Now, vocalist Tierney Sutton joins the list of Joni interpreters, as she sings Mitchell's praises—and songs—on After Blue. Sutton became an ardent admirer of Mitchell's work after hearing the brilliant Both Sides Now (Reprise, 2000), but she had some trepidation about trying on Mitchell's treasured songs.
24 sept. 2013 · Instead of using Sutton’s regular working band, the album features lineups that change from song to song. The biggest surprise comes from classical music’s Turtle Island Quartet on four songs, including an elegant version of “Blue” followed by a funky cello (!) on “All I Want.”
