Ryland Peter (“Ry”) Cooder (born 15 March 1947) is a musician, composer and multi-instrumentalist, best known for his slide guitar work, fingerstyle work, his unorthodox tunings.
Cooder also played with Randy Newman, including on 12 Songs. Van Dyke Parks worked with Newman and Cooder during the 1960s. Parks arranged Cooder's "One Meatball" according to Parks' 1984 interview with Bob Claster.
