Vozero was Manzanera’s first solo album in 10 years. All the tracks were written by Manzanera, and in addition to Phil’s distinctive and eclectic guitar work, the album also prominently features Robert Wyatt, a guest spot for Andy Mackay on oboe, and a cast of other musicians and singers.

His wide-ranging taste for musical diversity was instilled in him by the sounds he heard as child growing up in Cuba. While it was pivotal to the evolution of Roxy Music’s sound, it also found expression in other projects Manzanera undertook.
