Brief Synopsis. A television movie sequel based on the long-running series, "Gunsmoke." Long-retired Marshal Dillon, mistakenly suspected of murdering a wealthy mine owner, heads out in search of the actual killers.

The Long Ride is the fourth of five Gunsmoke movies. The first movie, Return to Dodge, saw the return of Miss Kitty, The second movie hearkened back to a 1973 episode, Matt's Love Story; Matt discovers that he has a 21 year old daughter. The next three movies also feature Beth Dillon.
