15 févr. 2017 · NUMBER 3 presents APHEX TWIN LOGO CONSTRUCTION It is exactly 25 years since the release of Selected Ambient Works - February 12th 1992. The original Aphex Twin logo was drawn by hand using circle templates and rulers in late 1991.
Aphex Twin, the London-based producer, whose real name is Richard David James, is recognised for his amorphic logo – created by graphic designer Paul Nicholson – that vaguely resembles the letter "A".
The Aphex Twin's logo was created, not by Dan Parkes as some sources assert, but by designer Paul 'Terratag' Nicholson in 1992. Nicholson: "Dan Parkes was the illustrator of the artwork that appeared on the 'Ventolin' release. A s far as I know, that is the only artwork that Dan created for Richard.
This iconic logo was first used as the cover of Aphex Twin's first full-length album, "Selected Ambient Works 85-92".
