The Manchester Grammar School was founded in 1515 ‘to educate the poor boys of Manchester in Godliness and good learning.’ Today we interpret this in the following ways: We offer an education that enables our pupils to lead rich and fulfilled lives beyond their time at the School, but also instils in them the importance of making a positive impact on their community and society more widely.

We do not provide the answers for the English comprehension as every boy will express the answer in his own words and each response the boy makes is considered by the markers on its own merits.

  5. Fees for the year 2024/25 are £15,930 per year, or £5,310 per term. Our tuition fees cover teaching in the regular curriculum, use of school books and equipment, stationery (excluding items detailed on the equipment list) and other materials, public examination fees in the Senior School (except re-sits), but not extras, e.g. private music lessons.

  6. 20 déc. 2023 · Urmston Grammar School is a mixed grammar school in Urmston, south west of Manchester. It was founded in 1929 and has specialist status in science and modern foreign languages. The school is built on strong traditions but maintains a modern outlook.
