The Social Housing Registry is where applications for Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI) housing are accepted. Home Base Housing’s Housing Help Centre is one location in the city where the applications are available.
Home Base Housing develops affordable, supportive and transitional housing, emergency shelters and support services to meet the needs of youth, adults, and families at risk of homelessness in the Kingston area.
HomeBASE pays the remainder of the rent to a landlord or vendor (like a moving or utility company) directly. Landlords or property managers will also need to complete an application in order for HomeBASE to help pay your rent.
You choose the length of your stay, from 1 to 12 months you pick the term that fits you best. We offer monthly rentals, so the minimum stay is 30 days and our contract will start on the first day and end on the last day of the month.
Home Base Housing offers transitional and rent-geared-to-income supportive housing options designed specifically for youth ages 16 to 24. Space is offered to youth on a priority basis, and caseworkers provide support for anything the youth might need to succeed from day to day.
