Strode also had a brief career as a professional gridiron football player and was among the first African Americans to play in the National Football.
Biographie. Acteur et footballeur américain, Woody Strode a débuté comme joueur de football américain dès les années 30. Il est notamment le premier joueur noir à entrer chez les RAM de Los Angeles en 1946. Puis, il a joué pendant trois ans d’affilée au Canada, avant d’abandonner sa carrière sportive en 1949.
