Michael Powolny (né le 18 septembre 1871 à Judenburg, mort le 4 janvier 1954 à Vienne) est un sculpteur, médailleur, céramiste, designer et enseignant autrichien.
Michael Powolny (18 September 1871 – 4 January 1954) was an Austrian sculptor, medallist, ceramist, designer, and teacher. Powolny was born in Judenburg. He was trained at Tonindustrie in Znaim, and from 1894 to 1901 in the Wiener Kunstgewerbeschule.
Although primarily a successful academic, Powolny continued to design art deco works of art throughout his career. A modern reproduction of his (lost) tiling work for the Cabaret Fledermaus in Vienna is shown below, together with two of his most widely admired creations, his celebrated putti.
