Matthew Stanley Quay (/ k w eɪ /; September 30, 1833 – May 28, 1904) was an American politician of the Republican Party who represented Pennsylvania in the United States Senate from 1887 until 1899 and from 1901 until his death in 1904.
He was Matthew Stanley Quay, also known as Boss Quay, a Gilded Age headline maker. A Republican senator from Pennsylvania, he was the original snowbird on the Treasure Coast. The area’s history would have been different had it not been for Matt Quay.
