Louis Arbon Strange, DSO, OBE, MC, DFC & Bar (27 July 1891 – 15 November 1966) was an English aviator, who served in both World War I and World War II.
Dubbed ‘the bravest man in the world’ by his friend and comrade, Robert Smith-Barry (who developed the internationally recognised ‘Gosport System’ of flying instruction), Louis Strange would have been a national hero in any other age, his life the stuff of legend.

A fascinating man, superb and courageous pilot and pioneer airman of the old school. He was one of the first pilots of the RFC sent to France in 1914. He was noted for his ability to tackle any job and do it his way, throwing away the rule book and cutting through red tape in the process regardless of the wrath of those in authority.
