  4. Winston Bryant (born October 3, 1938) is an American politician and attorney. He was the Secretary of State of Arkansas (1977–1978), the 14th Lieutenant Governor of Arkansas (1981–1991) and Arkansas Attorney General (1991–1999).

  5. Winston Bryant was elected Arkansas Attorney General in November 1990, began serving in January 1991 and served for the next eight years (two terms). The attorney general traditionally had been viewed as only defending the interests of the state before various judicial bodies and quasi-judicial tribunals.

As Attorney General, I focused my energies on representing and defending the State of Arkansas and local governments, fighting for strong and effective consumer protection, better environmental safeguards, opposing unjust utility rate increases, and reaching out to protect our young people and the elderly.
