Jhelisa Anderson is an American singer, songwriter and producer who has had critical and commercial success both with her own music which covers soul, jazz and music for meditation, and as a vocalist for major artists including Björk, Massive Attack and The Shamen.
Through the course of four solo albums, Jhelisa has journeyed through soul, trip hop, jazz, avant-garde, gospel, modal jazz and sonic experimentation, underpinned by her glorious, deeply seductive voice, remarkable in its intensity and spiritual force.
Since her debut in 1994 she has become an accomplished solo artist singing, writing & producing under her first name, Jhelisa. She made two albums and a string of singles and EP's. Her best known track was "Friendly Pressure", a tune that was remixed and re-released many times.
7 avr. 2006 · A primitive Guide to „Being There“. In 2004 internationally acclaimed artist Jhelisa discovered New Orleans as the perfect place to produce her third solo album. The city's rich musical culture has played a major part in the concept of the initially tited album "Discovery of Amazing", referring to New Orleans.
