The Super Fight was a computerized film bout between Muhammad Ali and Rocky Marciano using an NCR-315 computer. The Super Fight was shown around the world in theaters on January 20, 1970 and later broadcast on ABC (1970) and CBS (1977).
Rocky Marciano and Muhammad Ali, two undefeated heavyweight champions, are featured in a simulated fight. The film begins with scenes from the training camps of both fighters and moves to the actual fight. Off-screen interviews are conducted with Joe Louis, James Braddock, Max Schmeling, Jack Kearns, Jr., and Nat Fleischer.
Overview. Retired, undefeated Heavyweight World champion Rocky Marciano and the then current undefeated Heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali, sparred together with the footage then being edited to the instructions of a computer that had been designed to work out the result of this fantasy fight.
