Acock, whose six-decade career in architecture changed the face of Columbus and influenced planning decisions throughout the region, died at home on March 13, surrounded by family. He was 85. George was born August 2, 1938, in Trenton, NJ, to the late George and Elizabeth Acock.

The name, King George School, was given to our school in honor of King George V, who became King of Great Britain in 1910. He and his queen, Victoria Mary of Teck, secured lasting popularity by their courage and devotion to the people of Great Britain during World War I.
