Al Cohn (November 24, 1925 – February 15, 1988) was an American jazz saxophonist, arranger and composer. He came to prominence in the band of clarinetist Woody Herman and was known for his longtime musical partnership with fellow saxophonist Zoot Sims .

10 mars 2008 · On this quartet set, Cohn performs two originals and numbers by Johnny Mandel, Billy Strayhorn, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Kurt Weill and Gary McFarland. The then 56-year-old tenor is in fine form throughout, his rich tone seeming to only have deepened and mellowed with age.
