The London Muddy Waters Sessions is a studio album by Muddy Waters, released in 1972 on Chess Records. A follow-up to 1971's The London Howlin' Wolf Sessions, the concept was to combine American bluesmen with British and Irish blues/rock stars.
The late Irish guitarist Rory Gallagher comes off quite well, but Steve Winwood, Mitch Mitchell and Georgie Fame bring absolutely nothing to the party, and even Muddy himself sounds quite uninspired. 2½ stars...only for completists.

Released in 1972, The London Muddy Waters Sessions was a follow-up to 1971's The London Nowlin' Wolf Sessions, constituting two of the earliest supersession blues albums. Both brought together the cream of the crop of the UK rock scene in order to back a Blues master.
