The NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORTS (UNEFS) of Bucharest was established by the Law on Physical Education promulgated on 15 June 1923. It was the 10th institution of this kind in the world and the 5th in Europe.
Permanent education through movement is one of the priorities of the department so as to raise awareness for the health benefits the students can obtain by practicing a sport for fitness, leisure or therapy.
