The three groups working together raised over $100,000 to bring a sculpture of North’s mascot, the polar bear, to the Columbus Zoo. <>. The original North High School, at the corner of 4th Ave. and Dennison Ave., opened its doors on February 3, 1893, with eight teachers and 300 students.
Columbus North High School is a public high school building located on the north side of Columbus, Ohio at 100 E. Arcadia Avenue. It is part of the Columbus City School District. The school was closed in 1979 due to declining enrollment.

With five locations and home- and school-based programs, NCCC is able to reach individuals, couples, and families throughout Franklin County and help them with challenges related to mental health and addiction.
The annual “North on the Fourth” Open House/Reunion is held at the school each 4 th of July from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It all began in 1991 when a small group from the class of 1956 decided to hold an open house at North High School on the 4 th of July.
