Mary Ansell (1 March 1861 – 30 June 1950) was an English actress and author. She was born in Paddington (London), the third child of George and Mary Ansell, who ran and lived over the King's Head pub in Paddington. Ansell's father died in 1875 and the family moved to Hastings, in Sussex.
Mary Ansell. Mary Ann Ansell, a housemaid, was hanged at St Albans Prison, England on 19 July 1899, for poisoning her sister Caroline, who was an inmate in an asylum. Her motive was asserted to be to obtain £11.5s from a life insurance policy which she had taken out on Caroline.

When Mary Ansel was born on 4 February 1629, in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, England, her father, John Ansell, was 24 and her mother, Katherine Goodrich, was 21. She married Joseph Lathrop on 11 December 1650, in Barnstable, Plymouth Colony, British Colonial America.
