Il y a 1 jour · During my time in Northern Ireland, I had the privilege of visiting the Seamus Heaney Homeplace, a museum dedicated to the Nobel prize winning poet in his hometown of Bellaghy. One of my favorite displays in the museum contains several iterations and hand-written drafts of Heaney’s poem “The Harvest Bow,” published in his 1979 collection Field Work .

Literary by nature, the musical storytelling in Kelso’s artistry is as diversely and soulfully personal as Yeats and as close to the land and space that surrounds as Seamus Heaney.

Heaney and McMahon are no longer with us, so all the more reason to celebrate the work of Longley who turns 85 at the end of this month.
