Ritchie Blackmore, né le 14 avril 1945 à Weston-super-Mare, est un guitariste britannique, principalement connu pour avoir appartenu aux groupes Deep Purple et Rainbow, et pour être le fondateur de Blackmore's Night, dont sa femme Candice Night et lui-même sont les seuls membres permanents.
Blackmore originally planned to make a solo album, but instead in 1975 formed his own band, Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, later shortened to Rainbow. Featuring vocalist Ronnie James Dio and his blues rock backing band Elf as studio musicians, this first line-up never performed live.
