He formed the Bluesbreakers and released a live album in 1965 with ten original compositions along with some covers. Over the decades the Bluesbreakers became the breeding ground for great guitar players beginning with Eric Clapton and Peter Green.

I saw John Mayall open before Johnny Winter at the Hollywood Palace in the late ‘80s. JM was in amazing physical shape in his tank top (ripped). Both JM and JW stepped it up and burned the place down.
