Le Taj Mahal (en devanagari ताजमहल, en persan تاج محل, qui signifie « la couronne du palais » — mais ce nom peut aussi être vu comme une corruption de Mumtaz Mahal 1) est situé à Agra, au bord de la rivière Yamuna, dans l'État de l' Uttar Pradesh, en Inde 2 .

Night viewing of Taj Mahal is available on five days in a month i.e. on full moon night and two nights before and two after the full moon. Timing: 20:00 hrs. to 23:59 hrs. in 8 batches of max. 50 people each. Time duration for each batch is half an hour (30 minutes). View details.

Le Taj Mahal est surtout connu pour son mausolée de marbre blanc, symbole de l'amour éternel, mais ce mausolée ne représente qu'une partie du site du Taj Mahal. Ce dernier est en fait un vaste ensemble rectangulaire, d'exactement 580m par 305 orienté Nord-Sud.
