Magdalen College School, Brackley, in Northamptonshire, is one of three ancient "Magdalen College Schools", the others being Magdalen College School in Oxford, and Wainfleet All Saints in Lincolnshire, all associated with Magdalen College, Oxford and its founder William Waynflete, Bishop of Winchester.
A hall of residence known as Magdalen Hall later grew up around and above the school. At first, Demies and Commoners of the college attended the school as well as the sons of townsmen and noblemen. Magdalen College School produced some of the best grammar masters of the 16th century, who were pioneers of Latin textbook teaching.

The 13+ entrance examinations are for candidates who are looking at Year 9 entry and who are currently in Year 8 at a state school, or at an independent school that does not prepare candidates for Common Entrance or PSB.

In the Junior School, we help pupils nurture the talents, interests and skills which will see them flourish over the years to come. The school has its own Head, Tim Skipwith, and dedicated team of specialist teachers, whilst being under the overall direction of the Master and benefiting from Senior School staff and facilities.
