After an initial impression, the middle notes take over to provide the fragrance with its signature scent. Meanwhile, the base notes take the longest to come out and linger the longest.
The song ended up as the B-side of the Top Notes' Atlantic Records release, “Always Late”. The record failed to chart, and the group was dropped from the label shortly after.

However, due to their thin molecular structure, they also evaporate relatively quickly, usually within 10 to 15 minutes. Some common top notes include lemon, bergamot, mint, and grapefruit.

Heart notes and base notes also work together to create the overall fragrance. As they require greater perpetuity, these notes are more potent and are often created from perfume oil.
The top notes usually fade away relatively quick. Most of the time, they’re really present for the first five to thirty minutes. After that, their job is to smoothly transition into the next chapter of the fragrance, the middle notes. Because the top notes are not meant to be around for too long, they’re usually very light and volatile.
