Biographie. Le groupe se forme en 1984 autour du charismatique Chris Cornell (chant), avec Matt Cameron (batterie), Ben Shepherd (basse) et Kim Thayil (guitare). Très vite, Soundgarden décroche un contrat avec le célèbre label Sub Pop à Seattle (vivier du grunge). Leur premier album.
