In ultimate frisbee, a turnover means handing over the possession of the disc to the opposing team. A turnover occurs when you fail to catch a pass and drop the Frisbee on the ground, if the Frisbee is caught out of bounds, or if the defensive team manages to intercept the disc or to knock it down.
