Neal Joseph Schon voit le jour le 27 février 1954, sur la base militaire de l'Air Force d'Oklahoma City, aux États-Unis. Ses parents, musiciens, lui offrent un saxophone à ses cinq ans et l'initient au jazz et au blues.
His father, Matthew, a jazz saxophonist and big band arranger, started Neal on the saxophone at a very early age. Later, young Schon transitioned to the oboe because he thought it sounded cooler. Besides schooling him in more traditional forms of music, Neal’s father introduced him to The Beatles, whose songs he considered well-written.

Né le 27 février 1954 à Oklahoma City, Neal Schon est un guitariste américain. Parmi ses plus grands succès, on compte les chansons Caruso et Hero, ou bien encore (Everything I Do) I Do It For You. Il est le fils de Matthew Schon. Il a aujourd'hui 70 ans. Il peut aussi être connu sous les noms de N. Schon, Neal Joseph Schon et de Neil Schon.
