Une belle histoire. Simple et morale comme on pouvait encore les faire alors. Celle d'un jeune garçon abandonné recueilli par un marinier au grand coeur mais "qui n'est pas un aigle". Bien des années plus tard le petit garçon charitablement accueilli saura sauver à son tour sa famille de marinier après le naufrage de Belle Nivernaise...
" La Belle-Nivernaise, c’est le nom d’une péniche qui fait le trajet entre Corbigny et Paris pour transporter du bois en suivant la Seine et l’Yonne. C’est le titre d’un roman d’Alphonse Daudet jusqu’alors introuvable et que Les Editions de Champrosay viennent de rééditer.
