Sir Harold Malcolm Watts Sargent (29 April 1895 – 3 October 1967) was an English conductor, organist and composer widely regarded as Britain's leading conductor of choral works.
Sir Malcolm Sargent, né le 29 avril 1895 à Ashford et mort le 3 octobre 1967 à Londres, est un chef d'orchestre anglais dont le nom est particulièrement rattaché aux Proms. Sargent est né à Ashford dans le Kent mais a passé la plus grande partie de sa jeunesse à Stamford dans le Lincolnshire.
Sir Malcolm Sargent was an English conductor who, as Britain’s self-styled “ambassador of music,” toured throughout the world. Sargent earned his diploma from the Royal College of Organists at 16 and in his early 20s became England’s youngest doctor of music.
