Barbara Crane (March 19, 1928 – August 7, 2019) was an American artist photographer born in Chicago, Illinois. Crane worked with a variety of materials including Polaroid, gelatin silver, and platinum prints among others.
Barbara Crane was a pioneering internationally renowned art photographer and influential educator who explored photography as a vehicle for creative expression for over sixty years. A forerunner in experimental and abstract photography, Crane explored numerous photographic processes throughout her extensive career.
