David Anthony Rice (June 8, 1951 – December 25, 2020) was an American bluegrass guitarist. He was an influential acoustic guitar player in bluegrass, progressive bluegrass, newgrass and acoustic jazz. [1] [2] He was inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame in 2013. [3]

David Anthony Rice, dit Tony Rice, né le 8 juin 1951 à Danville en Virginie et mort le 25 décembre 2020 à Reidsville, est un guitariste américain de musique bluegrass. Tony Rice est considéré comme l'un des plus importants guitaristes de ce genre musical : il intègre ainsi en 2013 l' International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame [ 1 ] .
1 avr. 2014 · Thomas Vinci Strings support Tony Rice Foundation. As more and more folks learn about Tony Rice’s health issues, more ways to help are popping up. Though he never was officially an endorser, Tony very publicly used Thomas Vinci strings for many years.
Rice died in his North Carolina home on Christmas morning, 2020. The worst news imaginable to acoustic guitar fans around the world on what has been pretty much the worst year ever for everyone. Just two months earlier, our other guitar deity, Eddie Van Halen, passed away.
