Depuis 2006, EuskoTren est la marque opératrice de l'administration ferroviaire du réseau d'infrastructures des chemins de fer basques, une entité publique de droit privé Red Ferroviaria Vasca-Euskal Trenbide Sarea), selon la loi du Parlement basque 6/2004, du 21 mai 2006.
Sous la marque EuskoTren Trena, l'entreprise Eusko Trenbideak S.A. exploite le métro de Saint-Sébastien avec un arrêt en Pays basque français à proximité de la gare d'Hendaye, ainsi qu'un réseau de 181 km de lignes de chemin de fer à voie métrique.
