Alan James Hollinghurst FRSL (born 26 May 1954) is an English novelist, poet, short story writer and translator. He won the 1989 Somerset Maugham Award, the 1994 James Tait Black Memorial Prize, and for his novel The Line of Beauty the 2004 Booker Prize.

Alan Hollinghurst is an English novelist, and winner of the 2004 Booker Prize for The Line of Beauty. He read English at Magdalen College, Oxford graduating in 1975; and subsequently took the further degree of Master of Literature (1979).
